Medici, the family that supported Leonardo Da Vinci trumpets a loud name. In a similar fashion, Medici on 57th professes bread and food that satisfies your stomach. I have had the coffee milkshake, garbage burger, and pastries of all kinds. I cannot give you a detailed play by play like my other reviews because I cannot write a 200 page book on the numerous experiences. My spark notes version would be to attempt great things and enjoy the process. Each item here combines high quality with a reasonable price.

What a great place ! They pretty much have everything! I appreciate their separation of take out and eat in. Such super friendly service. I love their lattes! We often get take out. Their turkey sandwich on Asiago bread is delicious. I also enjoy their quesadillas. My husband likes the arribiata Their fries do decently well from the restaurant to our home particularly the wedges. That surprised me. Their guacamole is delicious and I appreciate the kick to the salsa! Looking forward to trying more food!

Nice staff, food was ok. I had a chopped salad I was really excited to eat but it fell flat for me. There was barely any chicken and bacon in it. Few of the other toppings aside from the lettuce. It was served with bread on the side with two very small pieces of bread. There is only about 3 or 4 standing tables inside with no chairs. There's currently outdoor seating but I'm not sure what seating will look like when it gets cold outside.

As I have mentioned in my past reviews, this place is great for breakfast and is known for its pizza and hamburgers. On this visit, however my father and I decided to other items. He ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the roast beef with horseradish sauce with a side of potato salad. The Fish and chips arrived, looking good, but it turned out not. They had not been fried in hot enough oil and so they were kind of soggy with oil. My father is not one to send a dish back so he picked out the fish and patted off some of the oil with a napkin. My roast beef sandwich I substituted the rye bread with ciabatta. The roast beef was good without much fat and the arugula gave a little zing and the cheese provided substance. The horseradish, however, was missing in action. I asked my server for more of the horseradish sauce. I thought maybe they had just not put much on. But no, it's the horseradish sauce itself. It is so mild as to be not-horseradish sauce. The service as always is attentive. The exposed brick and wood with subdued lighting, make for a good dining atmosphere. While this meal was disappointing, we will still be coming back. Sticking to the burgers and pizza most likely.

The quintessential spot for UChicago affiliates! This family owned restaurant has two floors with high ceilings. Our server was absolutely the best and the sweetest!! We were able to be seated despite our party not being entirely present, and she was so patient with explaining to us the menu and letting us take our time in ordering. We got the pesto chicken pasta, the garbage pan pizza (basically for meat lovers and deep dish), calamari, and the Caesar salad. The pesto chicken pasta was so refreshing, I loved it!! The chicken is a dry though, but they're generous with the portions. The garbage pan pizza was so delicious, not too wet, and had SO many toppings! We were SO full by the end, in the best way possible. Ours was the family size, enough to feed a table of 7 with extras! The calamari was fried with a light batter and came with an addicting marinara sauce that I just wanted to spoon into my mouth. Finally, the Caesar salad was incredibly refreshing, had a great anchovy taste, and very fresh.

A great deal and lots of fun food for a good price. Seating on 2 levels and outdoors. Fun food for families and students and adults. The fries (wedges and thin cut) were very good and light and crispy. The variety is wonderful here! Fun place for everyone. Parking is on the street and you have to pay on the app. The vaguely reminiscent, dessert with fig and rum, was really really good. And the mushroom and spinach soup was very, very good as well.

Medici is located near the U of C campus just a short 10-15 minute walk from the Museum of Science & Industry. We stopped in for lunch after seeing the Bond exhibit and had an excellent time. Service was excellent and the interior had a chill rustic vibe. Food was delicious, highly recommend the pizza!

We were visiting U Chicago and stopped by Medici for lunch. There was a short wait to be seated. The restaurant looks like an old tavern, and they have interesting wall decor that is eclectic. The appetizers were really good! We scarfed down some onion rings and chili cheese fries. The loaded fries were stand-out amazing! The main lunch orders were a little underwhelming. I really liked my personal pie of veggie pizza, but my hubs thought his roast beef sandwich was "just okay." Our friend got a fried chick sandwich that looked good! I enjoyed the food! The service was fine. Everyone was pleasant. I would come back again. Of note, I got a latte next door at the cafe side of medici while we were waiting to be seated. And the latte was not good. I could barely drink it.
